Gti missing hoses/ SAI

Hello, I know there are a lot of post regarding the SAI on these but I'm trying to figure out what the hoses are around it and if I can still use the aftermarket intake that is on the car.

I bought the car about a week ago and it was throwing a bunch of codes and ran terribly(one of the throttle pipes had a hole in it). Now it is running better but still throwing some evap codes(p0491 and p0455). It has a throaty awful sound on a cold start that mellows out in a few seconds, not sure if it's related or not. I live in California and can't register the car until it can pass smog. There are 2 holes and a vacuum nipple, are they all SAI related and would it cause the car to run like that.

Thank you

I can look at mine when I get home tonight.

Can you hear the SAI pump run when you start the car up? What intake is on the car?

I'm trying to figure that out too. I feel like it's an intake for a different gen vw and I'm not sure what sai pump sounds like, I'm used to my mk5 fsi.

Kinda looks like one for a Golf R. Might be an older gen GTI though.

It sounds like a vacuum cleaner is running under the hood. You will only hear it on cold start ups and it goes away within 30 seconds.

It would probably be louder without a filter on it too so maybe that's what it is. But is the vacuum line attached to something that would throw an evap code?

You are missing a hose that runs over toward the pump. The other 2 ports on the left are blank.

Do you have a CEL?

If the valve doesn’t switch the pump will run for a few seconds and shut off. I have had to mess with mine before due to a CEL.

I'm thinking when the throttle pipe had a hole it in it was throwing too much fuel and not enough air, maybe messed up the charcoal canister or purge valve

The emissions system has an extended warranty on it so you might be able to take advantage of that.
