hey im new here with no experience with vw cars whatsoever. i was wondering whats the best springs, for lowest drop. thanks
Really depends on what you're looking for. Just springs? H&R Race springs lower the car about 2 inches I think. I've heard of some people running race springs with the stock struts, but that's risky in my opinion. As it stands, people (myself in the future included) are risking it with the H&R Sport springs and stock shocks. What kind of conditions are you driving in? Snow, sleet, ice? Also, how are the roads around you? If they're pretty bad, then you may not want to go lower than an inch and a half (H&R Sports are 1.5 front 1.2 rear). Finally, if you have any step driveway entrances or anything, you've got to worry about bottoming out. Depending on how much money you have, your best best is a set of coilovers. They will run you more than a grand though. Coilovers are basically springs and adjustable struts. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to make sure I had you covered in everything. There's more spring companies out there such as Eibach and Neuspeed, but I'm biased towards H&R it seems and that's what I will be getting soon enough.:headbang: Hope that helps.
I got my spring/struts installed about 2 weeks ago, and wanted to wait for them to settle before posting pics. They're simma down'd now, so here are the pics:
GROUND SHOT TIMEZ!
Looks perfect IMO- it doesn't look slammed, yet the SUV ride height is gone. It looks the way it "should". I'm stoked.
Before pic for refference:
