Does this mean that the R32 transmission with the 4 motion drive train can be fitted to a GTI and the only big issue is the spare well for space?

After the body work, most of phases will be plug and play.
First, I used an AWD transmission from a 4 cylinder engine (RS3, R20,...) because R32 transmission will not bolt to my engine.
Then I need to change ABS module and ESP sensor to a model that supports AWD.
Haldex wiring and second fuel sender will be prepared later.
Then AWD fuel tank, rear subframe and drive shaft will be installed.
Exhasut will be changed also.
For me, yes I see that the spare well is the biggest issue because it needs major parts cut and welding on the body, all other parts are just plug and play with some wiring and coding.

R32 transmission will not bolt up as the 6 cyl/4 cyl bellhousings are different. The MK1 Audi TT quattro trans bolts right up though

Thanks that makes sense. From the transmission then do you use the rest of the drive train from the mk1 TT or from the R32?

I will use the rest parts from golf 5 R32, I'm not sore that audi tt mk1 will be ok as I think it shares the same components from golf 4, then I think haldex version will be haldex 1 which may not be compatible with mk5
