.90g and 111 ft braking on previous gen A6 with small 255 tires for a big car.

SRT Jeep ran 8:49 around the ring with Sabine at the wheel on big 295 summer tires. 12 years ago the RS6 ran 8:20 on 2-generations old chassis, engine, slushbox, and tire technology. It is not comparable in performance besides straight line acceleration.

SRT Jeep ground clearance? 8.3 inches. Towing capacity 5000 lbs until MY 2014.

2001 allroad ground clearance at off-road level? 8.2 inches. Towing capacity also 5000 lbs...

SRT Jeep cargo space 69 ft^3. 2001 allroad space 73 ft^3.

SRT Jeep mpg 13/19. Fucking pathetic compared to A6, S6, RS6.

How well did the M5 wagon do e60? How well did the e55 amg / e63 amg wagon do?

Wagon's with power don't do well here.

Look at the CTS-V wagon, selling 1/100 of the regular CTS's. Not worth it in terms of BUSINESS

First of lets clear up some BS you just posted.
2014 Jeep SRT
Tows 7200
Has 68.7 cu vs current audi gen of 63.8
Costs 10k less than the SEDAN you posted

RS6 is +40k over a jeep if you can even get it.

Also sweet job piecing together stats from your 01 and comparing with the new jeep and carefully omitting that you can't tow shit with the current audi line up. How good does your 01 it brake if you want to play that game? 130ft maybe... 0-60 in 7 seconds at best as well.

You can try and justify the (RS) wagons all you want, but they are not here for very good reasons. They overpriced and they don't make any sense.

You're still comparing a Jeep to an Audi, of course the Audi costs more. You might as well bitch that the Mustang is as fast as an M3 for half the price too. M3 is overpriced and doesn't make sense!

If you want apples to apples look at A4/A6 Avant vs Q5/Q7.

Current gen Q5 tows 4400 lbs, A6 Avant 5500 lbs, Q7 6600 lbs. A6 blows both trucks away in handling.

You're still ignoring the fact that luxury SUV's in this country are NEVER used offroad and rarely tow anything at all. The only thing they offer is cargo space - which you get just as much of in a wagon.

Most SUV owners though don't even do shit with there SUV other than go off-roading of off street curbs:roll eyes:

Most that drive them are soccer moms because they feel "safe in them"

This isn't an argument about that. But more so about why no one would buy those performance wagons

Sounds like an argument against all luxury utility vehicles.

And a Tahoe has more towing capacity, more ground clearance and more mass than any utility wagon I am aware of.

People buy the "performance" SUV's and the wagon versions outperform them handily in every respect. Since no one uses those for actual "SUV" purposes, the only relevant aspects of them are performance... A plain old A6 Avant performs on par with an SRT8 Jeep for less money and better than an SQ5 for the same money. An S6 Avant performs better than SRT8 Jeep, X5M, ML63 AMG, and Cayenne for less money than all of them but the Jeep, without even looking at the RS6.

From a review on the "performance" Jeep:

Body motions were often unchecked; the steering was light but slow; the brakes weren’t especially easy to modulate; and all operators experienced an instance or two of unpleasant head toss. In the hills, it was nearly impossible to establish a driving rhythm other than to enter corners tentatively, wait around, then wait some more, then full power out. “It’s as if your only choice is all of the horsepower or none of it,” noted Pund. “I’m pitching it into corners instead of pouring it in.”

Yeah, sounds like a real winner there.

The average driver doesn't give a damn about cornering Gs, braking distance, or seat bolstering. They want a cheap, reliable, comfy vehicle that can accelerate well enough when they need it to, and hold all their kids' crap.

A JGC can check all those boxes. For a lot less than a comparable wagon. And cheaper to fix than an import. Bonus points to SUVs that make you feel like a badass sitting above the rest of traffic.

I love wagons. But I understand why they don't sell well here.

I'd love to see more Audi variants over here in the U.S. but the numbers aren't there. Plus it's a hard sell when you can buy an SUV that does the same thing for less.

$21k JSW > $29k JGC

Both slow and de-contented as shit, both have the same amounts of space, JSW is way better on gas.

$55k A6 3.0T > $63k SRT Jeep

Both pretty fast for big cars, both have a lot of content, A6 is way better on gas.

Where are these SUV's that are cheaper than comparable wagons?
