Fuel Pump Fuse

I searched the forums and could not find anything.
My fuel pump fuse has shorted and when I tried to replace it this morning it blew as I inserted it.
Does this indicate a faulting fuel pump?
Could this in any way be related to the Revo "chipping", have had it for about 8 weeks?
I am curious before I get it to the dealer tomorrow, Monday, November 26, 2007.
Will they look automatically at the ECU and find the remapping?
Thanks for the help.

I heard a few people smashed the top sensor on the fuel pump while replacing the engine cover. If you recently have removed your engine cover, you may have smashed the sensor, shorting it out. I'd check there first.

Your software shouldn't have anything to do with it, but just to be save, throw it back into stock mode before you take the car in.

fuel pump fuse follow up

Yesterday morning the car was slow to start, it finally did, I just thought maybe it was not happy because of the cold weather.
Started and stopped a few times, than did not use it until 5:30 pm, went out to start it and it would not start.
No lights on when I turned it off earlier in the day.
:-(

I'm bringing back this thread as i'm facing the exact problem. Did anyone figure out the cause?
Year of your GTI and where is the fuse that is blowing if its in the dash side panel and is Fuse location #2 that fuse does more than just LPFP module. I suggest you do a scan with Vcds and post results.
