Fuel Gauge/Pump Issue

I searched the forums to see if I could find any discussion on my particular issue, but the symptoms I read were not the same as mine. So I thought I would post my question here.

My '07 is having an issue with the fuel gauge where it either doesn't show the accurate fuel amount or will not show anything. Will show wrong range for a full tank, somewhere around 395 to 420 miles ... I WISH! Car runs fine there's no effect on ignition or while under power. I've replaced the in tank fuel pump and the module on top with no luck.

Would appreciate any suggestions on what to investigate next!

By chance when you did the pump did you also do the adaptation for the fuel pump?

This is a 2.0T correct? If so http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/2.0l_TFSI_(AXX/BGB/BPJ/BPY/BWA) look at fuel pump adaptation. With the scan tool you can also run a complete scan of car and see what it finds.

By adaption can I assume this means to calibrate the new fuel pump sending unit? Based on my reading of the VAG-COM that appears to be what's happing. I wonder if a OBD Eleven scan tool can achieve this as well?

OBDeleven show be able to talk to ecu and ask it to run basic setting for fuel pump.
