I have:
STOCK Huffs ET 51. With 12.5mm Rear and 8mm spacers making my ET 38.5 Rear and 43 front on 225/40-18 and H&R Super Sports.

Rear 51-12.5 =ET 38.5
Front 51-8=ET 43.

In the next month I plan on getting VMR V710 ET 45: My goal is to have a tad more aggressive set up than I have now. So I came up with 8mm rear and 3mm front spacers to have a bit/tad more aggressive stance than my previous set up.

With VMR V710 ET 45.With 8mm and 3mm spacers.

Rear 45-8=ET 37
Front 45-3=ET 42

I think this is pretty good and I don't think there shouldn't be any rubbing issues with it as I don't rub with my current specs.

Huffs VS VMR V710 Wheel specs.

Huffs: 18inch W=7.5 ET 51. CB 57.1 Stock Tires 225/40-18
V710: 18inch W=8.5 ET 45 CB 57.1

My main question is, does the wheel width (HUFF=7.5. V710=8.5) Affect the fitment and the math I've done above for the the final ET?
Since the wheel width is an inch more on the VMR, do I even need to run spacers?

225/40/18 on our 18x8.5 +45 is pretty flush in my opinion. Even some of our international customers think it's TOO aggressive. This width and offset is ideal for us in the states, but may be considered too flush for international guys.

These will be much more aggressive than your Huffs. Here is an example:

18x8.5 +45 on 225/40

19x8.5 +35 on 225/35
