Hello all
Firstly i want to say more power to the forum! Been reading posts for a year now and following tips and techniques on my MK5. Sadly things always go smoothly in a 18 yr old cars. Heres my story.
It all started a month ago. My blower motor fuse will pop once in a while and replacing it will be fine. I didnt bother looking for the short. I wasn't really worried about it until all next Friday. I was literally on my car all day and when I turn it off and come back after an hour, the fuse pops again, but this time it pop every fuse i put in up to 30A as soon as I turned the ignition on. Sunday morning, a friend suggested helping me out with the issue by putting in a "add a fuse" with 2 fuse slots. We put in 2 30A fuse. As soon as i turn the ignition on, smoke came out. When i checked the added fuse slots, the fuse didnt trip and the wire is intact. i guess its ok since the car started still no blower but it started and run.
monday I decided to look for the cause of the smoke by looking at the fuse box on the driver side panel. I saw a burnt wire like crispy burnt wire. When i saw it, i uncover the wire cover that's holding all the wires in the fuse box. the burnt wire all the way as far as I can see (firewall). And there are wires that was damaged surrounding that burnt wire. So I inspect them one by one and saw multiple wires that are opened or shaved or burnt. since the car still run, I can cover the the wires again and wrapped them one by one the next day. When I was about to go to work, the car stared but had a EPC warning light on and wont pass 3000 RPM. I guess it went on limp mode. I have no idea what to do next or where to start from . I have error codes P0122 and p0222. I remove all relays and test them one by one if one of them might have got damage by the burn wire.. This morning, I put tge relays back in. There are no service lights/ error lights on the dashboard but the dash back light is on. Car is no crank no clicks.

Why would it go on limp mode when i spread fuse box wires and now why wont it crank?

I am more puzzled and where to begin. I read replacing the throttle body. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thank you all in advance

Have a scan tool that can see the complete car (Ross tech Vcds) if so, do a complete scan to see what it shows you for issues.

I did scanned and everything is malfunction except immobilizer and steering. I did a scan prior and i had a code for tps P0123 and P0222.
Will those codes affect most modules? Im in the process of replacing the tps, and removing the dash to trace the burnt wire and trace the damage wires and replacing them. If i can find a whole harness it would be easier to replace.

How about you post the complete scan to we can see what the modules are showing for Dtc. Those code will not take out all the modules.

The dash harness should have a part number label on it that you could use to try and find an undamaged harness.

Looks like you are going to take this to a shop based on your other posts....
