It may or may not help. No one thing is the fix, apparently.
Mine has had the intake valves cleaned and still the issue remains.

Hey there...mine doesn't have a J17 relay under the dash for the Fuel pump. My under-dash relay board is missing two. IIRC, after searching once for having a J17 code, the under-dash relay board on mine is missing #2 and #4. Mine must be on the panel next to the battery. Build date on mine is '6 or 7/2006'.

There are no more relays on golf mk5 gti 2005-2008

Mk5 2.0T do not have fuel pump relay they use the lpfp module.

Right...mine doesn't have one. I believe some early ones do...pre-2005 or 06 (could be wrong) where available elswhere in the world for those years.
