Small fenderbender this weekend unfortunately. I had my car backed into by my inlaw (on accident) and while there are slight scrapes, the big thing that I noticed tonight was that the headlight lowbeam horizons no longer match. The headlight in question is dipped down about 10 degrees lower and maybe tilted a tiny bit.
I'll be digging into this more tomorrow when its not so dark and rainy but besides bending of metal from the collision, would there be any other factors that would dip the headlight from the accident? I'm pretty sure the auto level still works since both lights still dip and rise when starting the car but if this is a possibility, let me know. I'm going into this blind armed only with tools and instructions for removing the headlight.
As for going to a body shop with insurance, since the damage is minimal otherwise, we were going to avoid higher insurance rates. If anyone from a body shop or has knowledge of insurance matters for things like this can chime in with advice, I'd appreciate it.
