Did my first service today

Today changed my oil. I used Mann OEM filter and Amsoil 5W-40. It took almost 5 quortz (i dunno if i spelled it right). Reset the service indicator light, checked my coolant, tipped washer fluid and rotated the tires. What-a-Happy camper.......

heh heeee, guess what i have used Amsoil religiously for the past 3 cars, can not be happier. Would recommend everyone

:thumbsup: Wise choice. Did you notice any oil getting drank up by the turbo? Have you had to add a quart before?

Me too.:thumbsup: Scuderia are you babyig that thing (j/k). But I can't believe you haven't drank up any oil in your turbo yet. You must be taking it consistantly pretty easy on her hah?

I'll give you that. But under long periods of running a car fairly hard your going to have oil burning regardless of whether you drive it "right" or not. Completely normal behavior for this cars engine.

How the hell do you reset the service indicator???

this is how the hell i did it:biggrin:

1. Keys out of ignition- press and hold in trip odometer reset button "0.0" on right hand side of display
2. Still holding this button down, insert key into ignition and put to the on position without starting the car.
3. Display will read "service now"
4. let go of the "0.0" button and depress the "m" button on the left hand side of the display. this will re-set the service reminder. There is no confirmation on the display other than the words "service now" will disappear.

got it from the tex, and it works. Another way is to use the Vagcom.
