This is the way

We're trying to get there (sorta, and slowly). We each daily our autocross cars, though hers is a bit more comfortable than mine. The GTI is a weekend/fun car, we're looking for a CX-5 as a winter/leave-it-alone/everything's broke vehicle, and will eventually be getting down to sharing a Miata for an AX car, two daily drivers (one of which will also be the AX support vehicle to bring tools and tires to events), and of course, the GTI.

I have a buddy who rented an EV in Europe as well. Said even with that infrastructure, it absolutely sucked and an EV wouldn't be good for anything other than a 2nd 'run errands around town' car.

My daughter hasn’t stopped telling people how she was late for soccer b/c I pulled up next to a guy driving a 20AE R to talk about his car in the market parking lot.

At that point, he's giving his opinion. If the Infrastructure is there, it's viable, even if you don't like it.

What's not tenable, is no infrastructure and half the chargers being broken.

I think the major oil companies screwed up not getting into the EV infrastructure and electricity generation game sooner. Would have given them decades with their feet on both sides and an easy transition to EV for their business model.
