Largely, women that are into cars are going to be nearly impossible to impress, OR just want their shit worked on for free. Cars are a dope hobby and even more so a fun one to share with others, but I don't know that it's ever going to be the root of picking up a woman.
My wife was casually into cars, but I don't know I'd say into cars. These days with how talented she is, she's not gonna be impressed with somebody with a clapped out mk4 (though I'm glad @sterkrazzy isn't coming to CSB meet, she's a big Audi fan

Idk, it's a broad stroke to paint the whole population with, but I'd say it's exceedingly rare. I've seen a number of people who try to use others' hobbies for personal gain and have no interest in making a personal connection, and that's a shame. But it's a good thing to keep an eye out for.

That's a keeper right there. Mine advocated for them as well, but it's a symptom of a larger factor: She's super supportive. Even if she wasn't into cars, she'd still be backing me up on my shenanigans.

I met my wife at a racetrack despite her not being into cars at all. I often crack jokes when we're arguing which is rare along the lines of "sheesh good thing I have a racecar otherwise you'd be out of here so fast....is there anything racecars can't do?"
50/50 on how often it works to lighten the mood and break the argument

Take your time watching it. I have found that shows like that lose something when you binge watch them. You don't get nearly as invested in the characters when you see their entire story arc in 2 weeks vs the 6 years it originally took.
My daughter hasn’t stopped telling people how she was late for soccer b/c I pulled up next to a guy driving a 20AE R to talk about his car in the market parking lot.
