I think I made a wrx mad yesterday. He seemed like he was enjoying his drive. The weather was nice, so he had his windows down. I'm an annoying piece of shit, so I floored it past him making sure I shifted right as I was passing him. There was traffic ahead of us so 20 seconds later he rolled past me, but now he had his window up. I should have beat him up for not appreciating my vroom vroom noises.

He probably was trying to be respectful and not hear him laughing

Could have been mad he got the Subaru Performance Transmission. He can't even shift his auto.

tbh I get a lot of joy out of dsg farting on other drivers. Especially if they're shitty drivers.

lol, Sometimes it's a pretty violent noise that comes from the RS3, but I love doing it to people with their windows down. There's a few turns I do every day where if I have the opportunity to floor it or close to it then I'm going to. Sometimes I end up flooring it past people, sometimes there's no one in front of me to worry about. I feel like people probably take it personally or like I'm mad at them, but I was going to do that whether they were there or not. Them having their windows down is just an extra bonus.

mk7s are wild. I don’t get the feeling that the ridiculousness is appreciated by anyone that isn’t a VW enthusiast.

My mk6 with it’s itty bitty baby turbo gives me all that I want, but I imagine that wild freeway pull in a 7 is something else.

I used to think WRX and FoSTs were quick and the GTI was kind of lagging behind (getit?) based on numbers, but I'm starting to think maybe my initial impression was incorrect.

Don't get me wrong, I love driving the GTI and it's a hoot. But I've also been known to have fun in an NA 8v mk4, so I don't know how quick it is relative to other stuff. With that said, I was able to keep decent pace with one of those 392 Chargers, no idea what that makes it but it was toying around on the highway and I didn't have issue keeping pace.

I love it when expensive cars rip past, then you know that even if you can't keep up, you can still have some fun chasing in their radar shadow.

Most people won't take it too far past 100, even if their car can go WAY faster.

I got up to ~160 (indicated, actual? dunno) in my old Subaru STi and it was kind of boring, but at that point I was used to going faster on sport bikes. I had a C5 Corvette up to about 170 and it felt like it was about to take flight, would not recommend.

The mk6 feels much more stable at 120+ than my 9-3 did. During actual people-on-the-road hours I don't pass 100.

I've never gone more than 127, not many places on the highway where you get more than half a mile's vision ahead to get the confidence to gun it. Can't wait to go for more on the track or an airstrip event someday.
