CREE LED reverse lights?

CREE reverse lights on Ebay

Has anyone tried these or similar LED reverse lights? How's the output compared to the original filament bulb?

i've head of people using HID bulbs in their reverse housings, but not these yet. Try them out, and see if they work. Seems like they have a decent return policy, and a 1 year warranty.

To be honest, I couldn't fit one of those HID bulb in the projector fog, never mind a back up light with such shallow housing

you have to take the rubber O-ring off to fit it in the stock fog light housing, btw. They make smaller HID bulbs though, so it's entirely possible. I think it's a little odd how these have lenses on them. It looks like it concentrates the light directly out. Would be curious to see the reverse light brightness from a side angle.

With a single backup light, I am not sure it could be too bright,
I know my one stock bulb is close to useless.

I would be concerned about melting the fixture with the HID though.
Tried a 50W halogen bulb in place of the stock bulb on my LED tails,
and that didn't work out too well.

Haha, look at the price on the last one! I wonder if he actually sells any of those at 300 bucks a pop.

went to autozone and grabbed some xenon white bulbs.. look just like the LED and is a lot brighter than stock.. also doesnt get hot or throw codes..
