I was wondering if there is any other power sources (hazard switch, dash lights, radio) that would be closer to tap that would dim?

Illumination and 12v for your head unit perhaps? I know with my aftermarket hu and canbus adapters, I could probably tap into the wires very easily.

Don't know if it'll work though. If I order one, I'll try it.

Bump for more detailed pics! Front/back of the pod and gauge...

How is the gauge secured in the pod?

What issues are you having with the fuse taps? They're prett straight forward, no?

I couldnt get the fuse back in with the full tab installed.

I took some pics of my work around that I will post tomorrow.

Its all installed... and looks great.

I will try and take some pictures.

Cool. I just installed my EJ gauge today. It's so bright, airplanes could use it as a landing beacon. I'm very tempted to return it and pick this one up.

I am just judging from the pics, I don't actually have one. You can tell from pics that the EJ gauge is pretty bright, this one looks similar to the OE cluster.

If only it wasn't mounted in the center vent :mad0259:

Why is that a problem? I love the placement since my driving arm (left) won't block the gauge. That was one of the major reasons I didn't want to buy one of the other kits and why I like this one. I also like how the center vent places the gauge higher up so you don't have to drop your eyes very far from your view of the road to read the gauge at a glance.

Its not a problem its just personal preference really...

I would prefer to retain full functionality of the center vents because thats where the majority of the AC blows from. I think the center vent is a better location in terms of visibility etc., but I am used to the AWE location and I'd like to stick with that pod, but mount this gauge in it.

I am just waiting for someone to confirm how the gauge is secured in the pod before I drop my money on one... :mad0259:

I like the look of the center vent unmolested. I dont think the center vent is a better location at all, but as you stated to each their own. For those that say their left arm block their view, get your arm off the window and stop trying look cool so you can look at your gauge. If your in a true driving position, your left arm blocks nothing. Even still, if moving your arm an inch or two is too much effort for you to see your gauge and tell if your car is working properly for the sum of about 2-4 seconds, you shouldnt be driving. Again to each their own. I do like the fact that this unit is angled and keeps the vent functional.
