CiM angled vent pod and electrical boost gauge for center vent. Who has one?

Cheaper too.

The pod is a universal pod that is mounted to the steering column. Tuner style. Also, the what determines the size of the gauge is the mounting surface instead of the display. For instance, the part of the gauge that fits into the hole.

So, does this install to the left of the steering wheel, or to the right like VMR's gauge? If it is on the right side that would be a huge selling point for me. With that remote vacuum sender, I take it installation should be radically easier than with the other choices out there, correct? Also a big consideration now that winter is coming...last thing I want to do is spend half a day working with brittle plastics out in the cold!

Nice find. Looking forward to pics and installation info!

The angle suggests it only really works on the center stack vents, to the right of the driver, like the VMR pod.

The Mk4 kit is definitely for the center stack. Although I've seen mention that it will fit the left hand vent as well. Not sure that is true for the MkV.

The pod is a universal pod that is mounted...
I thought their entire kit, including pod, was cheaper than CiM was selling this gauge alone. Turns out I was incorrect; I was looking at CiM's package price, not gauge only.

That's VERY good to know, the center vent thing...this kit is now at the top of my list. I will be watching this thread closely. Thanks for the info.

Alright, so here are the pics of the install. On a scale of 10, the install was about a 4. Not very hard at all. As for the gauge and pod, it is freaking sweeeeeeet! Upon startup, it does a full 270 degree sweep and then gives you the read out. The colormatch of the backlighting is perfect. It couldn't get any better. The vent pod is great quality and the angle of the gauge is spot on with the driver. Anyone that is on the border about ordering this setup, just do it. What really sold me is the gauge and the location. I didn't really like the driver's side vent because I felt that my arm or the steering wheel would get in the way while driving. Sorry for the poor quality pictures. I also broke my damn camera as it hit the ground when I was getting out of the car.

Wow that's a nice gauge! I really like it. I never knew this existed or else I might've purchased one. I went with a prosport electronic boost gauge and it's got the sender in the engine bay also, but it's not the 430nm color matched.

Nice! I think I'm sold.

The stepper sweep on start is a neat little bonus.

How's the gauge work? Do you agree with any of what CiM says about the electronic/stepper setup being more accurate, more precise, or faster responding?

How about the manifold tap? What did you use?

Damned shame about your camera. I was going to comment about how nice the photos you posted are. The one of the gauge being de-boxed was shockingly nice for a web-forum snappie.

Looks great! Newb question, but does the kit come with 100% everything you need to install it on a nearly stock Stage 1 FSI car, or do I need to find a boost tap elsewhere or anything like that?

Does it come with an instruction sheet?

Any chance of fitting a silver trim ring to this badboy?

I might just order this tonight. Thanks for the info and the awesome pics.
