Thanks for the info Dan. I'd like to get a helmet I could use on the bike too and in flat black color. I know I could use that one too on the bike but white is just not my color. Can anyone tell me if HJC CL-15, CL-16 or CL-SP (http://www.hjchelmets.com) are SA2005 approved (on their site it's just stated: "SNELL/DOT Approved" so I'm not sure if that means SNELL SA2005 approved or what). They are pretty cheap too ($129, $139 and $169). Thanks.

For those above mentioned HJC helmets, I do not believe they are SA (Snell Automotive) approved rather SM (Snell Motorcycle). They have a specific section of their website devoted to AUTO and i believe those ones that specifically state the SA2005 are such.

http://www.hjc-motorsports.com/products.htm

I have also had good luck with the following website and have ordered from them.

http://www.apexperformance.net/cartgenie/prodList.asp?scat=274

use coupon code bimmerforum-10 to save 10%. found that googling their coupon codes.

I ordered the zamp fsa-1 helmet as a track helmet. I also hoped this could serve as a dual-purpose helmet for my bike as well. I am happy with it as an auto helmet but for bike use it has way to much wind noise for my prefference (creates a high pitch whistle). This makes it hard to find a dual purpose helmet without actually being able to take a test ride in one.

hope some of this information was of assistance

^^Thanks ducsNdubs for a good info! I guess I'll be buying separate helmet for motorcycle when I get it but for now I ordered ZAMP-FSA1 and got the free helmet bag and headsock, free shipping and 10% discount thanks to you man - all in all $153 total is amazing price - thanks a bunch!:thumbsup:

Nice find, Dan.

For what it's worth I believe the Scorpion EXO-400 is approved and is about a $140 helmet. I had one save my life during a highway-speed get-off (landed face first) so I can personally vouch for their quality.

Nice helmet but it doesn't say that it's SA2005 approved. I might get this one in flat black for the motorcycle though (found one for $129: http://www.motorcycle-superstore.co...D=80003&zmam=88421133&zmas=1&zmac=2&zmap=2120).

yeah sadly those scorpion helmets are not sa approved. I have rode with a matte black exo-700 for two years now and love it. alot of helmet for a little price. I had a head full of dreadlocks though and have just cut them so i'm looking for a new bike helmet also will probably stick with the scoprion line up. i dropped two helmet sizes....it was a lot of hair..hahaha

useful website for sport bike stuff but not always the cheapest but a great source of info with their video reviews if you can't get to a local dealer where you are situated. though i highly recomended trying helmets out first and even test riding in them if possible.
