Blown throwout bearing?

I have a manual 6-speed '09 GTI with 33,000 miles on it. I noticed today that when I decelerate, whether in gear or neutral, on the clutch or off the clutch, there is a knocking sound coming from under the floor of the drivers side. The closest thing I could think of is a loose throwout bearing knocking against the flywheel, but that usually only happens when you are down on the clutch.

What do you think it could be? I'm not sure if its still under warranty. Last oil change was about 2,000 miles ago.

that isn't it, you'd have all kinds of trouble engaging the clutch

So if I take it to the dealer, they're not gonna charge me for labor, etc?

Sounds like youre within warranty, they shouldnt charge to diagnose the sound. Now if it turns out to be the clutch, thats a wear and tear item and you will probably have to pay out of pocket for the repairs. But that depends on your dealer, etc. Theres a good amount of TSI guys going through clutches early.
