Buenos!

I don't speak much Spanish, so I'm hoping to learn a little more. I'm moving to Spain here in the next couple months with my wife. We're shipping our 2009 GTi over soon and would be awesome to get some contacts in the local area. I luckily am exempt from having to make modifications to the car to register it in Spain. Well nice to meet all of you! Excited to be moving to spain!

Hey man, after I get to Spain what would you recommend doing. As in, what's the best bet for coilovers, lowering the car for the road conditions out there?

Sorry for jumping in i'm also in Spain (Barcelona). Elliott i remember you mentioned something about modding and problems with the ITV. Is there anything we need to watch out for?

I've been looking up tuning specialists in my local area they look budget and i don't have much confidence.

Sorry not replied before now..
Like you say the shops around are budget and still behind the game by along way.
Regarding it being a pain. It is but only because you have to pass everything you do to the car."homoligation" I thinks it's spelt. And this cost money. Anything can be done just at a cost. I still have not done this but only ass I have to pass itv every two years as the car is still under 10years old. However after next time this will be a major pain -returning the car to stock just to pass the certificated test- so I am soon to go legal with the car and try get it all done excluding the de-cat exhaust of course. It can cost anywhere from 250€ -500€ but each time so it's better to do as many things at once as possible.
Regarding what coils ect to go for , that's really up to you for what you are trying to achieve . The roads near me are not great to say the least yet I still have my car "too low" mist people tell me. So if wait and see what they are like around you before making a choice. Spain likes a speed bump and big ones at that so be ready for that as it's not normal how many new ones appear on a weekly basis.

Thanks for the info. So if i change the coils the car would fail the ITV?
I buy most things from the UK. But what about the tune?

I'll have to look into how it's done for American military imported vehicles. They apparently still have to pass ITV, but not sure what restrictions are. Any clues?
