ok, so i have a 2.0t egine with tranny, and i have a 2003 mazdaspeed protege with a blown engine, does anyone know if the 2.0t engine will work on my mazda?

Forget it. The engine won't run without the ECU, and the ECU needs valid input from a number of other systems and sensors. Sell the VW engine and get a replacement Mazda engine from a junk yard.
