DSG shifting by itself before redline

So I found only a brief discussion on this on vortex but nothing on here came up. My DSG will randomly shift by itself while in manual mode under moderate acceleration around 4k-4500 rpms. I'll be in second gear about to shift to 3rd and next thing I'll be in 4th because my car decided to shift to 3rd by itself. It all happens very quickly. Had this a few times while merging into traffic which is definitely not ideal. Anybody else experience this?

Not that I notice. No traction lights coming on or anything. I'm maybe at ⅔ throttle when it's happened and I'm running PSAS4 tires so I can't imagine I'm breaking loose.

Just a JB4 running map 1 currently but this happened before that was installed too.

Is this not the Auto upshift? Mine would do that in Manual until I removed it along with kickdown.

I thought that only kicked in at red line. Is removing that option an OBD11 thing or tune only?

It’s a tune only to disengage it but I believe you’re right about when it engages.

Just to make sure…When you describe “manual mode”, you are moving the gear selector to the right, not pulling back and putting it in “S” mode, correct?
