Pretty sure the door accent lighting is indicative of the required module, therefor it should work on all GTIs.
Not exactly. I don’t believe any NAR vehicles can be coded for mirror dip to work 100% correctly without power folding mirrors. The most common scenario is that the mirror dips but doesn’t return to the correct position. This was my experience. And then when I installed power folding mirrors, the mirror now returns to the correct position every time.
B/c not all of them will accurately return it to the home position based on the door module you have.
I gave up on this one for that reason, not worth it...as much as I like the dip/return mirror on our Atlas. That seems to depend on what day of the week your car was built.
Exactly...close but not the same position. And each time the ‘close’ puts the mirror more and more out of position.I used ODBII to activate the mirror dip. Mine did the dip and returning back to pretty close to original, syncing with the left mirror.
Since you havent confirmed yet, just making sure you saw all the posts asking if your mirror adjustment knob was clicked over the adjust the right mirror. This needs to be in that position for the mirror to dip in reverseYeah, after clearing the fault code B11FA29 for mirror position, I came to the conclusion that my GTI SE 2019 does not have the proper hardware for mirror dip function. You guys have really educated me on this topic. Thank you for that.
Oh I thought I did Reply. My mistake, yeah it was definitely in the R position. I came to the conclusion that I do not have the right module equipment to support this feature. Lesson learn here is that I should have gotten the R.Since you havent confirmed yet, just making sure you saw all the posts asking if your mirror adjustment knob was clicked over the adjust the right mirror. Mine works on my 2016 SE but it doesnt return to the correct spot when out of reverse. It is always too high or too low and never consistent so I turned it back off
No worries, didn't mean to call you out - just wanted to make sure you saw that comment since a good amount of people aren't aware of that stepOh I thought I did Reply. This will tell you if you have the correct module. I checked on my '16 Golf R and I don't have the correct module with memory function.
Does anyone know the required part number for the correct door modules? Or is it in the folding mirrors...which i have coming from Aliexpress.
Depends on your current door controller. I had low line door controllers:

I had to update to 5Q0959592E & 5Q0959593E in order for reverse mirror dip to work. Granted I also installed my power folding mirrors at the same time as it saved re-work of pulling the door card again.
Both my Door controllers and Mirrors were from Ali, both worked great and I saved tons over OEM.
You have to code them to the car. I have VCDS, so I just copied the long code from the autoscan up there and applied it to the new modules. Once I did that, I then followed the coding guide for folding mirrors and mirror dip.Are the modules a simple plug and play or do you have to code them to the car etc??
