Will the red "GTI" grille emblem from a Mk7 GTI fit the stock grille on a Mk6 GTI?

My 2010 GTI (Mk6) has the stock, chrome "GTI" emblem in the grille, but I've always liked the look of the red Mk7 emblem. My question is if I were to remove my chrome Mk6 GTI emblem, would I be able to replace it with a red Mk7 GTI emblem? Or is the design of the grille too different that it would prevent a Mk7 GTI emblem from securely attaching to a Mk6 grille?

For reference, this is the emblem I am referring to - https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-volkswagen-audi-parts/front-gti-emblem-red/5g0853679pwyr/

The clips on the back look completely different from the MK6 emblem so it won't be a straight swap but there's nothing to stop you cutting off the tabs and just gluing it on....

Or just paint yours?

But I like the look too

Wow that badge skin might be perfect. I don't want to paint my current Mk6 GTI emblem red because I like that the Mk7 GTI grill emblem is red but still has a thin chrome border around each letter. I don't want to spend that much time masking off the border of my letters, and I'm too much of a perfectionist not to do that if I were to paint mine.

I knew the Mk6 and Mk7 grills have a different honeycomb pattern, so figured a straight swap of emblems wouldn't work, but I couldn't find a good pic of the back of a Mk7 emblem to be sure.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

The grill emblem lettering is the same size as the rear hatch emblem. Buy one of those and pull the chrome letters off. I did this years ago with the 20th anniversary red inlay gti letters. Same ones the pp Mk7’s come with. 2 red inlay hatch emblems and you can change out chrome front and rear.

Just ordered the Badgeskins set of red letter vinyls for the grille and rear hatch emblems. Ill post pics for everyone to see once I have them installed.

As usual, I'm circling back to this later than intended. The Badgeskins look great! If you're on the fence...order them. Just be sure to thoroughly clean the surface, then take your time to slowly, carefully lay down the vinyl.

Dude that looks great, looks tricky to get perfect layout with the edges.

I'm going to order the VW emblem one for the front. I've got the black emblem and hate the look with no contrast. I fixed the back with the insert vinyl from Klii but they only make fronts for the Mk7??
