What Rims Fit Golf GTI MK6

I want to get the XXR 527 rims, but the only size I can get in Australia in 18 inch is 8.75 with 35 offset, I'd get them with 225, 40 tires. Would these fit??

They'd fit with fender rolling (maybe even some pulling), and -- in my opinion -- too much negative camber.

I did use will they fit but just wasn't sure how much they would stick out from the guard, I'm going with 18x8.5 with 45 offset now

That's a tried and true width and offset for these cars - you'll be fine with that. Could put on a 235 tire, or even a 245 if you want extra meat. A 225 starts to look stretched at that width.

I like the look of the stretched tire, so 225 would be perfect

Just be careful with curbs. A 225 tire on an 8.5" wheel leaves the rim at the mercy of anything you may scrape it with. A 235 tire will have an unstretched wheel protector.
