Since you only have a seatbelt to keep yourself planted and away from the bars, suit yourself. I used to daily a car with a 6 point roll bar and 5 point harness, I'm not pulling this out of my ass.

I was under the impression that half cages like that were only approved in Europe when combined with fixed back seats (like in the 911 GT3S Clubspot package).

It's not that uncommon for reclining seatback adjusters to break in crashes. That's probably something that would be especially bad when combined with a half cage.

This is my 3rd VW with a Wiechers thousands of tuners and hobbyist use them throughout Europe T.U.V. Approved with series seats

Oettingers Golf R this is how ordered mine with the H-bar and rear seat option you can also order as option welded gussets on the cross bar,seat belt bars with or without nutcerts, the Clubsport version was made not to be permanently attached to the chassis and removed off season if needed
