But, put an R style engine in the GTI with 250hp stock and it will be easier to swallow.

yes, the swastika wheels that came with my 2019 GTI were removed at less than 100 miles and will spend
there life in my basement. Until I sell it in 2024 when I plan on getting an GTI-E if such a car exists.

Marco Pavone was head of exterior design for this golf, he also designed the VW Up which has the sharp dropoff front end and basically no grill as well.

You're 6 years late to sell it. Would have been a neat trick though to sell a 2019 in 2014.

There it is! I will say I don't hate it, but I think the mk7.5 w/ the LED lights looks a lot better.

Looks good, except for the wheels. I like it. Sad it's not a mild hybrid but I expect the facelift to include a mild hybrid powertrain.

It's hideous, sorry - but a definite no.
Everything inside and out (with the exception of engine power) is worse.
The Wallace & Grommit mouth. That front end doesn't suggest power or attitude, or anything...
The interior by Rubbermaid.
Even the new plaid pattern looks cheaper.

Thanks, just watched this one. Looks alright but nothing stands out to me which says 'I must trade my Mk7 and get one of these ASAP'! More interested to find out how it drives, power levels etc. There again I'm the sort of person who keeps a car for up to 10 years or when it becomes economically unviable, whichever comes first.
