I just bought a W6050 for my mk6 Golf, and saw that you may have had similar problems to me in fitting the head unit to the VW. I can plug one side of the dual fakra into the W6050 connection as below, but this means I only get FM reception. Did the fakra all in one adaptor that you purchased on ebay work for you? Unfortunately they don't seem to ship to Australia.
