    VCDS MB 091 and 093

Thanks for the link, I have seen it though. Like I said previously the VVT is all new OEM parts: complete chain housing with new rings, new cam adjuster, new N205. Also new chain and tensioner. I think I will try a can of Liqui Moly engine flush, then do an oil change. If it doesn't work I'll...

I opened it up again today and it seems I managed to install the chain incorrectly by setting the chain at 18 rollers between marks instead of 18 gaps. With 18 gaps there are 19 rollers between the mark on the intake camshaft and the cam adjuster. I'm back to 28 KW Cam Adjustment Intake B1...

Yes, this is how I counted except I went backwards like the guy did in the video, with the marker. I am going to install new cams. The story with this cylinder head is that I bent the valves on it and I replaced everything except the cams as there was no visible damage on them except a scratch...

I found my cam adjuster very stiff (non OEM) so I ordered and just finished installing a brand new OEM VVT kit (new housing with new rings, new N205 and new cam adjuster). Not a cheap kit.. Timing marks match on the belt side. And I have installed the chain as per the video mentioned in this...

Was your friend able to find out what the problem was? Currently experiencing a similar situation: phase position at -9 KW with new belt kit (timing looks good) and new chain/tensioner on the other side.

I measured mine and it is at 42.34mm after 300k KM on the cam.

Subframe mounts for the Dogbone...without removing the subframe to install.

Don't you need to remove the subframe in order to press out the original mounts first?

    Charge pipes for K04

I use the Spulen one. Cheaper than Neuspeed and it doesn't have the clip-on hose. https://www.uspmotorsports.com/SPULEN-2.0T-FSI-Turbo-Outlet-Pipe.html

Metal line FTW 😆. A PITA to change the follower but bulletproof.

    Smoke at idle

I gave the shop IE valve guides to install at the time but they said it will be too much machine work in getting them adjusted. The old ones were in good shape so they let them in place and only did the seals.

    Smoke at idle

4 years later.. :) I had IE intake and exhaust valve seals installed back then and at the same time I replaced the piston rings. No more smoking problems after but I don't know which of the two was the culprit.

    Both radiator fans running constantly

I noticed this a while ago but I thought it was my spirited driving but now that winter is here there has been no change. Both fans are running all the time when the engine is on. It's not normal. The AC is off obviously. Ambient temp sensor works as I get an accurate reading of outside temp in...

    Rear vented brakes options

Other than Golf R rears is there another carrier/caliper/disc combo that will bolt on and work with the stock parking brake system on the mk5 platform? Looking to upgrade the rears to vented and I would like to know what are my options. TIA.

Pulling the head - advice needed

As my smoke at idle issue is only getting worse I plan to pull the head off the engine and send it to be checked and valve stem seals replaced by a specialized shop. I will be ordering IE seals for both intake and exhaust valves...
