So picked up from where we left. More work was done on the car

Coolant tank installed in place

Gear linkage connected

Heater hoses from GT, customised and installed

3in Decat Downpipe installed in place and joined my 2,5in catback which will be replaced when hp increases in the future to come

Didnt like these bolts here

So replaced them with brand new

This little plug here is easy to brake

I did hit it hard while the engine was getting in the engine bay, and although i think it will work . . . I couldnt let it be . . .

Sadly it comes with the whole valve which costs a lot

Damn expensive mistakes I guess.

Can you believe these wire and sockets cost 50euros ?

I know I cant to be honest.

Out with the old tacho

Guess which one goes in

You guessed it correctly

Sit Back and admire what you've done

Then I did some work. No, then I did A LOT of work, on the donor car, exposing the wiring to see what I might or might not need.

There are some plans on how to continue from here on, one plan is taking everything apart from both cars and switching wiring from one to another and not cutting of any kind. The other is to see what is missing from canbus-engine-ecu-interior and just move those. We shall see

Then I cleaned an area in the hood

And started doing work

Took my time, to make sure it will come out perfect

Halfway there

Almost there now

Job Done

Yeap, I think I like it a lot. Hope you do too guys

Cheers

where'd you get the interesting idea for the decals under the hood? I'm unsure what to think about it.

Gold tape is heat reflective, its to help protect the paint on the hood in the area over the turbo from excessive heat. Probably not needed on a stock turbo, but I kinda dig it. I'm a big fan of motorsports inspired touches though.

Removed my handbrake and took it to the trim shop

Back in the days, in the first Golf MK5 I used to own, the whole thing was covered in leather. Then they went cheap, and covered half of it. F A I L

But I think that is about to change

Then, we sourced the starter I was after

Looked a bit tired to begin with

but it was nothing I couldnt turn around in some minutes

Then, dont ask me why, I decided to do something with this heat protection for the front axle.

It was tired and dirty

Cleaned it

Removed the protection that reflects heat

Cleaned again

And then, gave it some wrinkle flat black to make it fresh

But did not stop there and gave it some protection myself to reflect downpipe heat from the axle

Cheers more to come
