The Gorilla Gear is actually pretty damned cool, and there's also this:

If I hadn't have had the Gorilla Gear thrown in for free, I would've gone to mats.com and ordered something from them, as I've done for other vehicles in the past. They make floor mats and trunk liners for specific makes and models, so they're a good fit.

VW offer a bunch of trunk liners here, I'm not sure if you get them in the US...

A semi-rigid one which is what I have, excellent value and provides good protection for the floor and about 2" up the walls which still allows the pass-through access to the boot from the passenger seats:

The Gorilla Gear stuff sounds really good but we don't get it here! I'd like one for my car, at the moment I have a complex arrangement of bungee cords hooked to various attach points to anchor stuff in...

mats.com has nothing yet
they don't have a cargo mat for the Mk V yet.
I like the Gorilla cargo mat, but I wonder if it cleans easily? I have a pug who gets muddy feet and so I could use something that is hosable.

I've found a dealer in Portland OR that will sell me a Monster cargo mat for $98 plus shipping. Otherwise I have to go to the VW.com site and pay their inflated prices.

I picked up the gorilla gear mat on ebay for $64.99 from a dealer in Virginia Beach. It's nice alright. I noticed those velcro cargo "L" things rip up the material on the mat though, so I threw them in the closet.
