How to remove entire rear VW badge?

Im wanting to paint the rear of it UG, I already have the actual logo painted black.

I am pretty sure it is all one mechanism you have to buy from VW--it is like $200.

Not sure on how to remove it though, sorry.

Open your Hatch, Look up, Pull off the plastic parts that are covering the bare metal, You will see the Trunk popping mechanism, as well as the Window Washer mechanism, You will need to undo both to take out the Trunk mechanism, i belive it is 4 or 5 bolts per unit...oh and there are small electrical connections as well, disconnect those too...

and then..the opposite to put it back...

are u talking about the VW emblem where the rear hatch release is located? If so, it is very simple to remove. Use something thin like a credit card, ID, etc (I used my license) and if u lift the VW emblem up as if u were releasing the hatch, you will be able to see a little bit of space. Use your card to open this space up, but be careful because it is fragile. Just keep working at it and you will get it! good luck
