Ran into some trouble installing fogs...yea i know..

So I checked out the DIY before just in case and it looked simple enough. I took off the fog vents and was ready with my phillips screwdriver to take off the 3 screws holding the fog light housing in. I didnt find any phillips screws. Instead I found some of these star looking screws. I dont know the exact name. So where the hell can I get this tool to take off this screw?

This is what the DIY had.

it's called a Torx head screw, and most european car and newer north american cars use them

should be able to pick up a set just about anywhere hardware is sold!

an allen wrench would work with those too just have to fiddle to find the right size

I had inch and metric allen wrenches. I didnt want to run into the chance of stripping them.

allan wrenches work fine and if u have the right size your not gonna strip them... its not like u have to apply much pressure to losen them lol

Well Im pretty sure I've seen these in my computer techy friends toolbox. I'll grab a few. Anyone know what size it is?

i am gonna take a guss but T20 prob cuz that what most all the sizes are.

most of the screws holding light items are t20. everything that's considered body either uses 25 or 30. if you're planning on doing more with the car, get a set 10-30 should do it. or an allenkey set.

Yeah use the right tools, you don't want to mess up the screws. You should be able to pick up a whole set for about $5

you can get one of thoe all-in-one-cheapo-made-in-china tool from anywhere for like $5-10 they usually have them now

It's T-20, it usually comes in tool sets or as a bit. Piece of cake.
