07 MKV vs 04Jetta VR6

Had my manuel stock mkv for a little less than a month now. Tonight i raced a jetta vr6 '03 or maybe '04 who had 2 passangers in it with me alone in my gti. I beat him to 60 by more than a car length. Then we went on the parkway and he couldnt pass me. Shouldnt the VR6 have beetin me??? Was it cause he had the extra weight? either way I was very impressed with the mark 5. Still love all dubs though.:headbang:

Depends on the vr6. I believe an '03/'04 would be the 24 valve version, so it should have about 200hp stock. Now add the weight difference of the engine and the extra weight of the Jetta, our GTI should be faster. But it's still close enough to be a drivers race.
