Well,...
Took my GTI in for my warranty service appt, got the "climatronic head replaced", and upon inspection found numerous "tool" marks on the upper and center dash panels where it was evident that the mechanic used the improper tool to pry the two panels loose to make the necessary R&R of the "head" unit.
I immediately brought this to the attention on the service manager, and was told that he would order two new replacement panels at no charge to replace the damaged ones.
So,...the point of this lil' post:
ALWAYS,...inspect your GTI closely after any repairs, and most importantly, inspect and inform whomever BEFORE leaving the dealers lot.
