i get there w/ my g/f and sister who is in town.. first i pull up and im like "whats up guy's!!". Im all excited its my first dub meet. they look over at me and just kinda grunt (not even) i dont think anything of it.. so i park and walk up to them and join the circle and introduce myself.. more grunts and w/er's.i dont think i caught 1 person's name. it was pretty awkward. it was like there own little vdub click and i was an outsider.Like i pulled up in a fucking civic w/fart can or something? so we stood around for a good 45min-1hr and around 12:20 am or so when i was on the edge of being like f this im leaving everyone just got in there cars and started to roll out. Didnt seem like anyone was in charge or control to tell everyone of the route but i guess i must of missed that when everyone walked away. There was probably about 12 cars total most MKV but there were 2-3 mkiv's also. highlight was probably this very nice GTI Fahrenheit lowered .:R32 exhaust probably stage 2 very clean. there was an all black bmp GTI with black wheels which was very nice and clean also. and of course a brand new grey .:r32. anyway i decided to follow and they actually let me into there formation which was cool. we started driving and everyone is showing off a little when its there turn at the stop signs. i followed in suit with a hard take off which i haven't done much since going stage 2 (b/c of wheelhop) it didnt look like ANY of these cars where stock. then we got onto a really deserted road through the everglades 2 lanes, 1 in each direction and i shit you not everyone was driving 40 mph. it was like hard on the gas and then hard on the brake to slow down. never any good momentum or speed. i think if people who really like to drive and open there cars up saw a video of this cruise they would ROFL. it was like a bunch of low riders rolling through south beach hollering at bitches. the guy in front of me and the guy in front of him were constantly hitting there brakes.me and it looked like the mkiv behind me were constantly thinking about passing and heading up to the front.but i wanted to be respectful and not start flying around like and idiot. at one point on this same road a POS minivan pulled into the oncoming lane and passed everyone at like 60 mph... it was BORING!!!.. i went there to meet some other dub people and check out some cars. i didn't come looking for a race. living in the city i hardly get to stomp on the gas. the average MPH on my dash is 23 since i got the car. guess i didn't know what to expect. What can i say. Maybe i'll start my own miami dub crew and make sure every-ones mad chill and open to new people, and longtime dubbers. i dont want to rip on these guys cause i'm sure it was fun for them and there doing there own thing. I would just suggest that if you have your own crew and tell local people to join your site and come out for meetings and cruises you would be more social and organized about it. that's pretty much it. im not trying to start beef with these s.miami guys just sharing my experience.
after i ended up driving off on my own and doubled back to this gas station i saw with like a thousand people in the parking lot. We rolled through there and i swear it was like right out of the fast n furious movie with all these people and all these riced out cars parked everywhere.. my g/f was like "should i roll up the window".. I have never seen anything like that before. Besides the farenheit gti that pulled in right behind me there was nothing but JDM there. There must be alot of racing that goes on there.
