A client sent me his website link and says he has iWeb and he can get in there delete and add stuff. I need to do this as well for him.

I have iWeb and have never used it.:iono:

What is the easiest way for me to get in there? What do I do?
What are the steps?

Thanks!!!

iWeb is a website editor by apple.. it's part of iLife, I believe

I've used it before, and even published a webpage I created with it, but I'm not too pleased with it.

Wild Hare, does this person want you to make some changes to the page?

if it's a wysiwyg editor, shouldnt you be able to just update the code by hand? if it's an ftp thing, then you should be able to use any ftp software to update the contents of the server...

Yes, exactly.

Yeah, you can manually change the files on the server via FTP.. but keep in mind that if the owner of the webpage wants to make changes through his iWeb app and then publish - the changes you made directly on the server won't be there for him.

The client had emailed over iWeb files. I don't believe there is a server as of yet.
I open up his files in my computer and I can not make any adjustments to it.

One of the files has the SAFARI Icon on it labeled:Welcome.html

I click on the folder and it sends me to SAFARI with this in the window:

file:///Users/my companies name/Desktop/clients name%20Website/Site/Welcome.html

I'm stumped!

Yeah, although I really think he should be editing them locally and then upload the changes..

To do this he will need to make sure the files are in the correct spot on his local machine.

If they're not in the folders iWeb thinks they are it will give you those types of errors.
