It's Official....

My Turbo charged Lexus IS300 is totaled. I'm kind of sad to see her go, especially after putting so much work into her. I installed the turbo almost a year ago. The turbo was a Garrett T04-60. The car produced an est. 360hp(never dynoed). I had lots of fun with this car. Beating EVO's, M3's, S4's, and lots of other cars. Fortunatly the turbo kit was still intact after the accident. Except for the intercooler, piping, & BOV. I now have a buyer for the whole kit :thumbup: . After the kit is taken off the car a friend of mine will buy the car and use it as a restoration project. So with all of the money I have made from the Lex can go towards aftemarket parts for the GTI. The only problem I have now is picking a color :biggrin: . Here are some pix from the cemetary:

Uh, by the way and for all: u can order special colors for the GTI, just ask your dealer! The problem is just: nobody knows how they look alike ... only the names are known. You will probably need to go to your local dealer to find out ... For the German speaking among you here the names (and prices in Euro) for the special colors:

Thanx. My goal for the MKV is 300hp & 300tq. With the way things are looking with the aftermarket it should be pretty easy. And B&B Automobiltechnik happens to be an hour away :w00t:

Hmm,

300hp on the GTI, in other words: on 1 axis? I had serious problems in getting forward with the normal 200 this winter, it somehow looked like that:

... it's somehow too much power for wet steets, therefore I won't tune my one. If I want more I will buy me a R32, 4WD is the only remedy in these situations!

Very sad indeed ...... I shed a few tears.

Get black or white, if you want to spunk it up get red. Silver and UG is kind of bleh on this car IMO.

Ouch...sorry bout the accident, but at least you're in right. The Lex look like it held up well!

I have to agree with glasgow_ffm....300hp and 300tq is alot of power to the front wheels. Other cars like the Astra VXR have shown that that much power to the front is just impractical, not only from a wet/ice weather point of view but simply from a trying to turn at high speed point of view. There is a reason high performance sports cars and super cars are either rwd or awd. Yes it's possible to get the power, but controlling that power is the real trick.

lol...strangely enough I downloaded most of the visionboy vids last night (after doing a search for GTI vids on altavista). I was well impressed with the GTI, IS300 and that blue Supra is just amazing! The GTI was clearly quick on the freeway in a straight line but around a track I reckon a standard GTI5 mihgt give it run for it's money.

Yeah, but I'm sure he'd close the distance on the straight aways :thumbsup:
