Detailing a brand new GTI

Ok boys and girls. My GTI will be arriving soon and Im curious as to what/what not to do to a brand new car. I have read through the Autotopia guide, but still haven't got a definitive answer as to whats best for new paint.

From my readings I've come upon this.

1.) wash with regular detergent to remove dealer and transport wax and grime.
2.) clay bar entire car whilst keeping paint moist/wet.
3.) wash with auto shampoo
4.) polish (this is where alot of conflicting info is to polish/not polish new paint)
5.) wax with good quality carnuba/synthetic wax.

Any thoughts,tips and instructions from those who have experience in the field would be most appreciated.:bow:

That seems like the usual procedure.

Go easy on the polish. the car shouldn't have any swirl marks (unless some ham-fisted apprentice washed it at the dealer) so a serious polish shouldn't need doing, unless you're using klasse all in one as a surface prep for the wax.
