Traded in my black RSX-S on monday for a silver GTI Mk V. My RSX was always treated with Zaino and the shine was terrific. However, I had a problem that I don't recall having with other waxes. Would like to hear other experiences. Last summer I had just Zaino'ed the RSX a day or so before my wife and I were going on a week long trip in our other car. As we were about to leave, she insisted that the RSX be left in the driveway to deter the Viking Raiders and serial killers who are cruising the neighborhood just looking for an empty driveway. I complained that the car had just been detailed and that the sprinkler system would create baked on water spots. She started pouting and, to make a long story short, my Acura was left in the driveway. When I returned, my worst fears were realize with disgusting water spots baked into the car. I tried all the obvious and not so obvious fixes and even contacted Sal Zaino for advice who told me to use white vinegar (didn't work). With all the work I put in, the car started to look better, but I could always see the spots. I finally found a fix in the fall in Meguiar's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner that took the spots clean off with a power buffer. I reapplied the Zaino just before taking my car in for a trade in appraisal and figure it netted me $500 or so because the dealer was mightily impressed with how new the car looked. At any rate, I've owned a four black cars in the past and they were always a pain but I never had a water spot problem like I had with the Zaino treated RSX. I'll probably use it again on my GTI but wondering if anyone else had a water spot problem like I did. The best solution for keeping your car looking great? Easy . . . never, ever, ever buy a black car!!!!
