Pure Euro Presents: WüsteFest 2007

Pure Euro

Ready to race!
Location

Editors Note/Disclaimer: This post is lengthy... Take your time and read everything, I took a long time to write it for a reason... I have worked for the past 3 months to finalize all the information for this thread so everything can go smooth like butter. Enjoy and I absolutely can not wait for the 22nd!

Ladies and gentleman, European car enthusiasts of all ages, I am extremely proud to present to you; WüsteFest 2007. WüsteFest started as a idea to have a small group from SoCal caravan to Vegas for a weekend. Simple as that. After putting some legwork into this, I saw that there were many interested in doing this. From there, people from areas outside of SoCal were wanting the join in on the festivities. So, WüsteFest was born.

WüsteFest's Mission Statement: I, along with the rest of the Pure Euro members intend for WüsteFest to be an incredible weekend of activities, events, and all-around fun (yes, for all-ages). The goal is to bring the European car enthusiast community together for one weekend dedicated to our love for our cars. The point is to HAVE FUN. No show-politics, no cliques, no competition... We will drive, party, hang out, eat, and have an incredible time.

This event has spiraled to a point that I could never have imagined. We have people attending from as far away as CANADA! (eh!)

First-And-Foremost... Hotel Info

To those that booked at Imperial Palace, thank you for doing everything on schedule... You're all set! I'm almost positive that there won't be an issue, but please realize that while this might be a weekend-long party with a bunch of friends, you are staying in a hotel room on the Las Vegas Strip. Please be responsible and intelligent in your actions... I don't want to get any phone-calls about people in jail. There is a zero tolerance for marijuana in Nevada, and it is illegal to drink if you are under 21... If you have any questions re: check in etc, please call (800) 800-2981.

To those that decided to be lazy and not book your hotel rooms before the deadline, I have signed for an additional 30 rooms at The Artisan Hotel... Thank me later. Rates are $79/night + taxes and, like every other hotel, there must be at least one person over 21 "staying" in the room (by "staying" I mean present at check-in).

It is located just off the 15 on Sahara and is just a couple miles from Imperial Palace. For a map, Click Here.

The Artisan is a 3-star hotel and they have been amazing with taking care of us this late in the game. These are non-smoking rooms... and that's about the only thing that they are very strict about. They're going to be letting us kind of have the run of the place as long as we can keep it within reason and not making trouble for them. We are working on the parking situation because it is only Valet there (which costs $6.50/night), but until I figure something out with the management, plan on parking across the street for free in the parking structure at Palace Station.

To Reserve A Room:
- Call The Artisan Reservation Department @ (702) 214-4000.
- In order to get the group rate, make sure to identify yourself as part of the Pure Euro group.
- You are reserving a room for Friday, June 22nd and Saturday, June 23rd.
- The rooms will be handed out on a first-come-first-served basis, so the earlier you get there, the better the chance of you being able to get a room close to your friends... I have been talking to the hotel and we're doing everything we can to get us in the same area, but there are NO GUARANTEES...
- Please be sure to discuss cancellation policy with The Artisan if you have any further questions.

Caravans:

PLEASE be careful! Be responsible and make intelligent decisions. Everyone should have their room situations already figured out, so there is no hurry... Your room will be there waiting for you.

Friday Night Plans:

There are none... People will be arriving throughout the day, so to try to plan something would just be nuts. If you'd like to hang around the pool, I'd like to suggest heading over to The Artisan. For the directions from Imperial Palace to The Artisan, Click Here

Saturday, June 23:
Event: Mount Charleston Drive and BBQ @ Black Sheep
Sponsored By: Black Sheep Performance

The first "official" event of the weekend will be our group drive up Mount Charleston. The scenery is amazing and the weather will be nice and cool considering what the temperature will be in Vegas...

When: Meet 1:00pm, please show up no later than 1:30.
Where: Black Sheep Performance
Address: 4695 West Nevso Drive, Las Vegas
Map: Click Here For Yahoo! Maps

From the shop, we will head on to the 15 to the 95 and head out to the mountain. We will cruise up to the top and find an area to all hang out. Word on the street is that it can be 20+ degrees cooler up on the mountain, so we will hang out up there and do some photoshooting and enjoy the weather. Please make sure to eat lunch before you show up to the shop, but we will be BBQing for dinner once we get back... We're expecting to get back to the shop around 5:00pm. We will return to some music, shade, and BBQ. I'm really trying to get EVERYTHING for free, but at least the burgers/dogs will be...

From there, I'm working to compile a list of local coin-op self-car washes so we can get our cars ready for Sundays festivities... Just keep your ears open at Black Sheep for what people are doing for the night... Those under 21 that aren't interested in simply partying and walking around the strip, Game Works can be a lot of fun... I think you can get an hours worth of unlimited game-play for something like $20, but don't quote me.

Alright ladies and gentleman... this is it. The WüsteFest People's Choice Show And Shine 2007. The idea behind the "show" is for this event to become the West-Coast's "event for the people"... Yes, it's going to be blazing hot outside. Yes, you're going to be most likely hung over and sleep deprived. No, you will not see butter-faced, cellulite-infested car models posing on cars.

The way this show works is YOU choose the winners. No classes, no judges, no pressure, no politics. Every person that "registers" their car and I use the term register loosely because there is absolutely no money involved (free to enter, free to show... all are encouraged to show). Upon entry, each driver will receive 5 Vote stickers (thank you Graphics Works). To vote, place one sticker on rear window on the car of your choice... Doesn't need to be the "nicest" or "coolest", just your 5 favorite cars of the GTG. The 5 cars with the most votes, win! Simple as that. The last thing I want is for people to go to sleep early to wake up early to do a full-detail of their cars.. That is NOT what this weekend is about. I had the event not start at the butt-crack of dawn on purpose. Come, show us what'cha got, and have a good time!

When: Please arrive between 10:00 and 10:30 (and by 10:30, I do not mean 11:00)
Where: Sunset Park
Address: Enter park (Sunset Park Road) off Eastern Avenue (between E. Sunset Road and E Warm Springs Road).
Map: Click Here For Google Maps Directions!

Parking organization will be all over the place... which means we will not be attempting to organize parking... which means if you want to park with a friend or a car club, make sure to show up together... The reason for this (other than me being WAY too lazy to pull that off) is because this event is about the European Car community.. not the VW, Audi, BMW communities... it is about being together, hanging out with your old friends, and making new ones...

Polizei clothing will be selling the Official WüsteFest 2007 T-Shirt and Graphics Works will be selling the Official WüsteFest sticker throughout the weekend, but will definitely be available at the Show & Shine. We will be having a free BBQ (hamburgers and hot dogs), but bring some cash for water, drinks, etc (if you have specific conflicting dietary needs, please plan to bring a sack-lunch or make sure you've planned ahead).

IT WILL BE HOT AND SUNNY! This is Las Vegas, people. Yes, THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT. Expect temperatures in to the 100s all day, everyday, so make sure you keep yourself hydrated. A lot of us will be doing some moderate to heavy drinking, and that can cause quite the hang-over and dehydration... so please be actively hydrating throughout the weekend. We will also be spending a lot of time in the sun so please wear sun-screen. Nothing can ruin your weekend quicker than a bad sunburn. Doctors recommend applying sunscreen 15-30 minutes before exposure to sun and reapplying every hour or so. Your health is absolutely the number one priority, so please, don't think you're above some sunscreen or water.

Disclaimer: I, Brandon Chasin, have coordinated this event for all to enjoy. By attending any portion of this event, you are accepting the all risk involved with these events. This disclaimer releases any and all liability for damage, theft, and/or misplacement of any and all property in association with the WüsteFest 2007 event.

Additional Information:

The Artisan has been awesome in helping make sure all goes smoothly. They have extended the offer to let all attendees (anyone, whether you're staying at the hotel or not) "hang out" at the hotel. This means we will be able to essentially take over their pool area (which has a bar). Parking will be across the way at the Palace Station for self-parking or Valet (costs money) at the Artisan. It is imperative that everybody, hotel guest or not, is respectful to the hotel staff and obeys all rules.. They have done us a huge favor, so let's not make them regret it. There is a possibility that we might be working with the Valet to allow us to park our own cars in the valet area (but will most likely have a small cost involved)...

PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR PROPERTY!! Do not leave things out in your car, hotel room, etc... If you have people in your room, put away your cellphones, Ipods, money, watches, etc! I do not want anyone going home with anything have been stolen or any money lost (this excludes in the casino).

With all that said... who's coming?
