i can see where your comin from i guess.... hadnt really thought about it, but i suppose that some ppl could in fact feel that way, and i dont see why it should be a problem to remove em to keep things nice and comfortable here... i think everyone wants to ensure everyone feels welcome and comfortable while here.... maybe a vote/pole (to be fair to everyone):iono:

just thought it would help rid alot of unwanted posts, and get rid of this "rank" some people may see post count as, no matter how many posts you have, it doesent make you anymore a reputable or knowlegable person.

This is common sense though.

"It's not about quantity, it's about quality!"

Someone's post count isn't a way to determine rank, and anyone who uses it that way has their own issues.

It's just a tool, used along with someone's join date, to see how active they are in the community. Nothing more. It's shouldn't be held against someone.

i am not against the idea nor will approve it untill I see the evidences of such discrimination. On public forums respect is earned based on the quality of posts, attitude, knowledge, experience etc. as opposed to number of posts. Now that is common sense....

When we first started posting here, there were bunch of topics to discuss. A lot of us were new to MK5s because MK5s were new to US market. We exchanged ideas, experiences, knowladge. Like I said, everything was new, even all the aftermarket products. There were a lot to talk about. It is obvious why the first gen gang do not post as much as they did including myself.

Now looking at the forums, it is less VW content everyday.... OT is getting bigger than technical forums, and the quality of OT is ......

I personally believe there are bunch of other issues to be resolved before the material you brought up to attention. Thanks for sharing your thoughts

hate to say this but i think it really has to do with the volume of people coming here. No offense i love this site its like a small family, but if i need a question answered asap i go to tex to get it answered. Theres times this thread has nothing new on it for hours so it gets dare i say "boring" so people goto off topic to get entertained (i know i do) ...

Thats not totally true. If you look at the number of BS posts on this site, the word thread, all the porn threads, somone could easily get a large post count and never once post anything MKV related.

dude, like ive said before, until something new comes out this site is a broken record. people keep asking the same shit, posting the same shit, over and over and over and over. so i dont even bother to post about the shit i already know because it usually ends up falling on deaf ears.
