Sat August 7th Drive: Waitara (Hornsby)-OPH-Peats Ridge-Wollombi-area.
Tentatively the same time, 12 noon, same place as before. In addition, A night drive on another night might be arrangeable depending on interest.
Old details... subject to updates:
Be at Park Ave, Waitara Park, Waitara (a minute from Westfield Hornsby, off Edgeworth David Ave and a few minutes from the F3-Pacific Hwy Wahroonga junction). Several houses back from Edgeworth David and you should see a VW or Porsche as your sign of the group.
We will take the backroad via Asquith to OPH and meet at Kangaroo Point rest area.
We proceed along OPH to Peats Ridge. Anyone late could take the F3 & meet us at our next stop.
Next stop is Peats Ridge shops. Then we take an easy drive through to Kulnurra, regroup at the Gourmet Kitchen stop, before taking the Great Northern Road to Wollombi village, via some beautiful scenery and passes which make this b-road heaven.
We then stop at the first wine cellar door past Wollombi, Stonehurst at Cedar Creek. (Alternatively - some more twisty roads beyond Wollombi, instead!)
There are picnic areas/tables etc t Stonehurst for us to have a picnic lunch.
Refreshments (at least wine tastings!) and a few smallgoods items are available at the cellar door.
You don't need to have a VW, although that would make it more fun.
If we can head off on the drive promptly, then we should still have decent light for some nice pics outside a stone cellar door and lush countryside.
