Ive had my GTI for about 3 weeks, i have the stock 17inch summer performance tires. I was supsoe 2 have the all seasons because i live in lower NY and it gets somewat snowy in the winter. VW caleld because teh shiped my car w/ the wrong tires, and said they will change them for free, or i can keep these. My question is what do you recoment doing? i was htinkign i keep these on, and change over to a snow tire come winter, i have heard the all seasons that VW gives u r somewhat crappy. How much do i compromise in hadnling by switchign to these all seasons? also is there a great all season made by someone else for me i could get?

The Conti AS are really not bad for stock tires for 4 season driving. If you plan on doing wheel upgrades, I would swap them out for the AS for your winter set. If you plan on the 17s being your performance tire, get the summer and buy a cheap set of winter wheels with winter tread. I live in MN and the AS faired well in the snow.
