I'd like to know what applications people recommend for the iphone to save looking and not knowing whats best. I'll update list as we go.

callme - speed dialling with pics
myphone+ - link ALL your facebook contacts with your own, mix and match
irealsms (good but bit buggy) - proper sms program, why the standard iphone sms is so shit, is beyond me.
bitesms (good but missing some vital features) - added features, quick reply, contact pics
whatsapp - iphone to iphone free IM
flight control - game
tlert - quick pop up sms replying and reading
action menu - action menu
reflective dock - reflective icons
sbsettings - quick access to regularly used settings (worth it!) and customisable
winterboard - further customising
tap to unlock sliders - tap to unlock phone

sb settings - quickly turn on/off 3g wifi bluetooth applications by swiping over the clock
five icon dock - put 5 icons on your dock bar
bejeweled - addictive fun little game, try and beak my high score of 100k!
oz weather - does weather and BOM radar. very good
ping! - free iphone - iphone sms over data
fifa10 - fifa 2010, honeslty if you have a decent train ride to work this will kill time
tomtom - expensive, and diffucult to use without a proper holder (also illegal too i think to use in the car) PM me for info about how to get a copy for free
iexpenseit - budget app
Pro RSS - rss news reader, can import from google reader and is qucik/easy to use recomended

EDIT: Some tools from cydia that are worth every penny
Backgrounder - run any app you want in the background. good for IRC clients or rss readers
kirake - allows fast swapping of backgrounded apps by double tapping the home button

what i use and recommend (most of my apps are free - i've only paid for a few - and none of them have been over $3):
ping! (paid) --> cross between sms and email, it's pretty good but can only be used to contact iphone users
whatsapp (currently free) --> don't use it but i have it, basically more complicated version of ping, which is use and love...
commbank (free) --> allows me to do my banking on the go
facebook (free) --> allows me to poke whoever i want on the go
ebay (free) --> ok u know what this does...
PayPal (free) --> so i can check my balance in there after spending up big on ebay haha
iiQuota (paid) --> check if i've gone over my home net usage, phone usage etc
Domain (free) --> so i can look for properties to buy (or dream abt coz i have no money)
ING Direct (free) --> good when it works, look up average prices of suburbs and also repayments on loans etc
eBuddy (free) --> msn/icq etc chat on the go
ShopShop (free) --> shopping list so i don't forget stuff
xe currency (free) --> so i know when the US dollar is good so i can buy stuff!
now playing (free) --> check movie times at cinemas that i can customise to suit me
aroundme (Free) --> looks up whatever u want around u, banks, restaurants, petrol stations etc
Urbanspoon (free) --> find me a restaurant app
Shazam (free) --> tells me what song is playing (pretty accurate too!)
Metlink (free) --> tells me abt public transport times, although i never use PT but allows me to tell my gf where to go if i can't be bothered picking her up
Stanza (free) --> ebook reader (don't use it much) but it has access to thousands of books for free (mostly older titles that have gone past their copyright etc)
Big 2 (paid) --> game every asian knows and loves...a pretty good version of it too!
paper toss (free) --> good game, gets a bit boring though
FlightControl (paid) --> great game, addictive and challenging too!
doodlejump (paid) --> awesome game, addictive
Real Racing GTI (free) --> pretty good racing game starring the MK6 GTI
DrawRace (paid) --> pretty good car racing/drifting game
Ragdoll Lite (free) --> all right game that gets kinda challenging after a while
Unblock Me (free) --> same as above

and many more that I have but don't use much...

I haven't bothered with too many apps at all (certainly haven't bought any), but would recommend the following:

- Remote (allows you to remotely control itunes on your computer over wireless).
- Shazam
- eBay

Ps good idea I was going to ask about a few but dont want to go crosseyed looking at it too much as well as the computer :lol:.

Wobble ($) - Good fun for making funny photos
Camera Bag ($) - Good effects for photo's
Multiconvert (free) - Converts thousands of different units
Flashlight (free) - Bright screen for dark times.
Facebook (free) - Every update makes it better. Improved alot over 1st app.
Google Earth (free) - Same as on the net.
iDaft (free) - Awesome to annoy the missues :biggrin:
Drinks (free) - Shots, Cocktails etc


Games,
Worms ($) - Fun old PC game.
iFighter ($) - Addictive flight game, pretty hard also.
Bejelewled ($) - VERY addictive, my score sucks though, lol.
touchPhysics ($) - Good for getting the brain into action.
Parkinglot ($) - Same as above.

If you're a nerd like me, you'll like AccuFuel (records your fuel consumption more accurately than OBC).

Surprised polarbear hasn't recommended dynolicious! (wouldnt mind trying that out).

What's the best jail break program for 3gs so i can add sms sounds?
