Factory twin turbo GTI `Pirelli'
This make an intresting read !!!!
BTW This all comes from me buying a one of the last factory painted rear bumper upper for a mk5. <snip> By the way as final knowledge to you, the reason for VW issuing as an OEM spare part, the last remaining black magic metallic bumper covers, is that somebody over compensated for the number of painted bumpers required for the final production build run of the 2009 `Pirelli' Edition before finishing with the Mk5 for the new Mk6. So they had these surplus on the factory line at Wolfsburg. Hence the superior finish. Have you seen or know, let alone driven or heard about the last 15 `Pirelli' Edition Mk5's GTI's with DSG & `fliipper' multi-function Steering Wheel, built with twin non-sequential turbochargers (left over from the Mk1 built Bugatti Veyrons), They are the fastest and quickest GTi's ever built, (being 2 wheel drive and lighter, are even faster and so much quicker through the gears than the R32. , and have an `09' build number in the VIN. VW are extremely secret about them as all were originally built and destined for the Japanese market, (Which fortunately drives on the right like U.K.) and being built in the recession some (they won't say how many [we understand `15'] ) were cancelled by the VW Japanese dealer network & returned from the docks in Germany, before being shipped out. Being R.H.D. they could only be sent (very, very quietly and secretly) to U.K. for dealers to sell. We here have only seen one, but we are reliably informed that some that have been sold, + those still unsold, (but registered with DVLA on 09 plate, as VW won't allow any on `59' plates from next week) and were so unhandle-able in novice hands, they were either written off in crashes, or returned to VW as stock for dealers to sell as used, and have either since been sold again or are sitting awaiting a buyer ! but its a problem finding the remaining twin-turbo ones without a V I Number As our M.D. wants one desperately, he is currently on a `sham' holiday in Germany attempting to get the VIN plate list numbers of the 15 twin turbocharged R.H.D. `Pirelli' Gti's out of V.W. in Wolfsberg, so he can track one down. The saga continues for us <snip>

LOL what a load of tosh
The GTi pirelli can only use one turbo and defo not a high psi one form a bugati, cummon Is some body pulling your leg or what? It would take a complete engine re-design for such a mod, i remember a while back a story was leeked stating that 12 golf's were shipped to aus with v10 lambo engines lmao |

Kelvin,
Do you know if these special twin-turbo flipper wheel GTI's have arrived in the UK yet? If anyone sees one make sure you take a pic! I wonder if they'll be stealth or if there'll be styling mods too? |
