Hello from your friends over on VWvortex... I'm here to inform you that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the USA has opened a Federal investigation into the recent surge of VW/Audi DSG/Mechatronic Unit malfunctions.

Here are the links:

We love our cars, but the DSG's have been failing way too soon, and way too often, even after repeated repair attempts! We decided to put our collective heads together before someone was seriously injured or killed. (Read the reports and you'll see.) We hope our effort will inspire a similar action by others.

JOIN THE CAMPAIGN... PLEASE FILE YOUR REPORT IF YOU HAVE HAD OR ARE CURRENTLY HAVING A DSG ISSUE. HERE IS THE LINK: https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/

Good luck! Please pass the word to others you may know! Thanks

Nice. Thanks for the info Redux. I have had a few occasions with stutters and bangs, as well as moments of no responce from the DSG. Luckily nothing that has put me in danger. IMO the DSG has potential to be a great trans. VW deffently needs to work out the kinks.

You're welcome! One report, and a few on YouTube have had very close calls with death... the tranny had a complete meltdown while he was driving at a fast rate of speed on some Interstate Hwy., He was going uphill when the flash of death happened on his dash. (PRNDS starts flashing), he had lost all power to his drive wheels with heavy traffic and 18 wheelers on his butt... he closed his eyes and waited for the end to happen.... luckily he was able to roll off into the shoulder.
