8 something that I know of.

Edit: Fastest proven stock down to the tire time is 13.6@103.

A couple quote un-quote "downhill" tracks have had 13.5's run. But not backed up.

Find me an S2000 that makes >400wtq below 6,000rpm, or one that makes >300whp and doesn't have a "fart can" on it, and I'll repeal my statement.

EDIT: I should clarify, modded S2000's are "ricers", stock ones I can appreciate for what they are. I've driven them and worked on them. They're a decently fun stock car. Once modded they loose ALL interest in my book.

i'm going to throw my 2cents in and say that the s2k isn't a terrible car. Just like there are better cars out there, i think the s2k is different, fun, and potentially fast. I've driven one before and it was a fun ass ride... not for me, but i enjoyed it

What makes you think I idolize Evo's and STI's? The last REAL Subaru I cared about died when Impreza's were no longer offered as 2 doors. As far as Evo's go? I'm pretty neutral. I have friends that have them and they're quick, fun and decently reliable. I wouldn't own one if I made $250K/year.

I don't understand how you try to defend the S2000 by comparing it to a an Evo. You seem to be ignoring what I originally said.

I know I'm the odd man out on this one, but I really don't care what a car makes on the dyno, I don't care what it traps in the 1/4 and I really don't care who makes the car. I care about it's build quality, I care about it's reliability, I care about those who ride in the car with me, and I care about how it drives (overall performance, you know corners, stopping, etc).
I feel as though I can say this with reason and complete thought, especially since I'm a licensed and certified technician that used to work on Honda's. Honda makes some of the worlds best average stuff. Congrats, you can do "everything"(don't get me started on the Ridgeline), but you can't do anything that somebody isn't already better at.

... that's my $.02

s2k's are very good cars and they get beasts when u start moding them .. most people dont think about it too much .. they just think about evos sti's
when u turbo charge the s2000 it comes really fast and the weigh of it is very light so it gives u more power + handling it has a beautifull handling .. i wanted an s2K but unfortunatly i dont have the money to afford one . :)

A few from the top of my head. InlinePro has probably done a have half a dozen themselves that would flirt with that mark. And they have three s2000's that are making n excess of 650rwhp+ and over 480wtq. Not to mention their 767 whp/512 wtq beast that pulls wheelies that I'm sure you've all seen. All on 2.0L motors.

Once you start getting into this much horsepower, the VTEC crossover is lowered drastically to help spool the turbo.

You don't have to tell me about VTEC controllers, I'm not the tuner noob that hasn't ever seen a big turbo before.

You missed the >400wtq and not having a fart can part. All of those sound like ass.
If you're going to hand me Youtube and Streetfire videos of other people's builds, then I can do the same.
... here's a car that from the factory was considered the best handling car on the market, no matter the cost. ... this one happens to make >400wtq at 4300rpm, and a little bit more than that in the higher RPM. Oh yea, it'll still out handle an S2000, and makes double the power of your turbo Honda's.
Turbo E36

And then there's this little guy, 034MS VR-T 24V Time Attack build, which made >850awhp and a boat load of torque.

Neither car has a "fart can" on it. The M3 is in street trim and still rides just as well as it did from factory, or better.
If I'm going to be spending my money on a car and a build, it's not going to be an S2000. The purchase price of those cars would get me a clean car and half a build before you would ever think about modding an S2000.

I have my opinion, you have yours. I like German cars, and FWIW, I like bigger displacement + boost, rather than high revs.

don't want to take it down that road again, but there have been 13.5-13.6 stage 1 GTI's. Driver's race IMHO. Granted you're not going to see times like that in SFL heat/humidity with stock cooling, so in your neck of the woods, I agree stock s2k > stage 1, even a lot of stage 2's. But take into consideration the same cars you've seen down there or raced would be faster in other parts of the country. Having driven in both hot/humid and cold/dry it's a huge difference. Like slower on race gas in the heat than on pump in the cold kind of difference.

You're welcome to that opinion.

Personally, I'd be pretty darn happy driving an M-Tech 328is for a daily, and a Euro Spec '95 M3 on the weekend.

Because it sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.
Anybody can make 500whp. I made >420whp N/A on a college budget with a cam, header and ported head combo. There's more to life than dyno numbers.

Well VTEC controllers have absolutely nothing to do with any of those cars, so maybe I do need to tell you about them Mr. Honda tech. A turbo s2000 would be running stand alone management, not an Apexi VAFC2 or fields unit to control the engagement point.

You sure you worked on Honda's there buddy? Changing oil on Ridgelines don't count in my book, just so you know.

You missed the >400wtq and not having a fart can part. All of those sound like ass.

Well just like banzai7, you too are welcome to your opinion. But none of those monsters sound like rice or have a 'fart can' exhaust on them. In fact I even posted the link to the one that had a side exit exhaust just for you.

If you're going to hand me Youtube and Streetfire videos of other people's builds, then I can do the same.

You asked for someone to "Find you an S2000 that makes >400wtq below 6,000rpm, or one that makes >300whp and doesn't have a fart can on it".
So I find you several, and now you're asking me why I'm showing you???

Nobody ever mentioned anything to do with an E36 M3. But if you insist, I'll give you my opinion on the matter.

... here's a car that from the factory was considered the best handling car on the market, no matter the cost. ... this one happens to make >400wtq at 4300rpm, and a little bit more than that in the higher RPM. Turbo E36

OK, here's where the 'oh shit, reality' part kicks in.

First off, let me say the e36 M3's are great great cars, and definitely holds its place in history as one of the greatest M cars ever produced. But I think you're a little stuck in the past there bud with the handling characteristics, and also on your knowledge of what kind of power people are making in their s2000s now. You do realize there are 950whp Honda's don't you? And I hope you realize that now there are also 700+ rwhp STOCK motor S2000's?

And Car and Driver made that statement over a decade ago! lol. It was considered the best handling car on the market for 1997. Not EVER!

And even at that, look at some of it's handling specs compared to the S2000's.

Lateral grip (200ft skidpad) 0.88g - S2000 0.99g
700-ft slalom: 68.5 mph - S2000 71.7 mph
60-0 mph stopping distance: 112 ft - 109 ft
80-0 mph stopping distance: 215 ft - 204 ft

Acceleration
M3 - 3.2L 240hp - S2000 - 2.0L 240hp
0-60 mph: 5.7 sec - S2000 - 5.2 sec
Quarter mile: 14.1 sec. @ 98.5 mph - S2000 - 13.8@101 sec.
Weight: 3220 lbs -S2000: 2780 lbs

All across the board it gets smoked!

Well you can spend your money on whatever you like. And I'll choose to do the same with mine.

I have my opinion, you have yours. I like German cars, and FWIW, I like bigger displacement + boost, rather than high revs.

Exactly. It's your opinion. Everyone's entitled to their own. M3's are great cars. There's no denying that. Just a little out dated. (Kinda like what's happening to the S2000 as well)

Wow, keep flexing your e-penis, we're all going to cry ourselves to sleep tonight.

I don't think I need to back myself up on this one. I know I'm not an English major, but when I said the ">400wtq or >300whp" sentence, that meant one OR the other. Not separately. A turbo anything at 9000rpm will make 400tq, ok not really. I've seen a few B18's that didn't.

You're on a MKV website and arguing over a Jap car. I really think this is getting ridiculous. I like my European cars more than I like Japanese imports. I've owned both, I've modded both and I've chosen my preference. I shouldn't have to explain the difference between the build quality of an Audi or BMW over a Honda.

Yes, I've worked professionally on Honda's, Toyota, Scions, VW, and Audi's. Oil changes on Ridgelines has nothing to do with anything.

... the E36 M3 was considered the best handling car of any price for every year of it's production ('95-99).
If you want to argue numbers and "facts", go ahead. Pull your Type R and Mugen BS out and have some fun. You build your car, I'll build mine. 100hp per liter was done in Europe more than 5 years before Honda every got around to it. You know who brags about it? Honda people. Variable cam timing technology has been around for an age. You know who brags about it? Honda people. Honda now uses a modified version of the same technology BMW was using in the 80's, and the same idea Toyota started using a couple years before Honda did.

I'm done arguing over this crap, you can claim your win or say what you want. I don't know what you did on myfastgti to get the ban-hammer, but I'm not sticking around to find out. Have fun with your toy car.

Butt hurt and realizing there's another car enthusiast in the world I'm not interested in ever talking to again is another thing. Go buy a B5 S4 and bask in the glory of your own awesomeness, God sent you to make the world a better place, you should enjoy it.
