Parking Ticket

Managed to pick up a parking ticket when I was down in Newcastle on Monday I've been over the ticket with a fine tooth comb and there appears to be a few errors on it and missing info. Do you think I have a case for appeal? This is what's wrong/missing:

Colour : On ticket as "Unspecified". Does there need to be a colour on the ticket for it to be valid?

Date : All is has is "Date". No "Date of Issue" or "Date of Contravention / Offence". Again, do both these dates need to be on the ticket or do they only need to state "Date"?

Tax Disc Number : Been put on the ticket as xxx33x, when it's xxx333x.

Should I fire in a letter telling them to politley place the ticket where the sun don't shine?! Think I have a case for appeal?

Consult a solicitor first, as they is schooled in dem fancy lawyer-words, but I suspect you'll be able to get off on those technicalities.

Fired in a letter today to them stating all of what I said above, so hopefully I'll get off it. Worth a try anyway. If not, will just have to stump up the cash.

Deffo worth trying.

How can they put no date of issue, you could be anywhere.

They rely on us paying out straight away to save any hassle. Thats why they state that if it goes to court and loose the fine is increased by 50%, its a way of threatening you into paying.

IMO

It only says "Date : 26/05/08" on it. Reading stuff on the net, there's some technicality where the dates have to be worded a specific way for it to be valid. Hope I get off it. Charging for parking on a bank holiday's bad enough, but also dishing out parking fines is just plain cuntish!

I got one for parking the car transporter i was driving on the London Red Route next door to Kings Cross station.
He gave me the ticket from a handheld computer he was carrying and it printed the ticket out of a bag he had with him, often thought that this is to get away from making 'human errors'.

The problem was i was parked outside Avis rent-a-car dropping off 10 new Mercedes C-Class' they had ordered, where else was i to go ?

JOBSWORTH !!

Hope it does you some good.

Here in Edinburgh, wardens once ticketed a herse parked outside a funeral director's. The council upheld the ticket after the appeal, saying "the coffin hadn't been loaded yet, so the ticket stands". You couldn't make it up! Scumbags.
