Question Who has an APR chip with stalk feature?

I know there's a lot of APR chipped GTI here, but who has the cruise control Stalk feature? I just have a few questions about it.
How much extra did that feature cost you?
Are there any worries about messing anything up while driving (and selecting cruise control), or are the APR settings only changed when the car is not moving?
Do the changes you make with the stalk show up on the display, or do you just "guess" which selection you're making?
So if I were to get an APR chip, and add the stalk feature, the stock mode, and 93 octane, is that considered 3 programs? Or is stock not considered a program?

they will explain it to you completely at APR. i haven't used cruise control since i got flashd, i think it might cause a flashing CEL if i were to try it, so i don't risk.

honestly nothing has ever gone wrong and it is easier than boiling rice in the microwave.

I got 2 programs on the cruise control. Stock and 93 octane Stage 1.

$750 total. Cruise control works fine. If it didn't, I'd be pissed.

I recommend a motor mount insert with the chip.

I have REVO on my current rides, but had APR on a 1.8T. Just about everyone gets the stalk switching feature. Cost depends on how many programs you want. Check out http://www.goapr.com/VW/products/ecu...de_mkvgti.html for their pricing.

You don't switch programs while driving, as you need to cycle the ignition during a change. It doesn't display anything. The check engine light flashes. 1 flash per second = program 1 (usually stock), 2 flashes per second = program 2 (could be 91, 93, anything...your dealer will tell you what programs is what).

Stock & 93 octane programs would only be 2 programs. The staulk control is a feature, not a program.

Granted I would not base my purchasing decision on this fact alone, but part of the reason I didn't go APR on my current cars is because the "count the flashing CEL" is annoying IMO. I prefer plugging in REVO's stand alone SPS unit.

Thanks. I just checked that link. It looks like the stalk (flipswitch) is going to cost extra:

FlipSwitch Technology

For a total of 2 programs
(i.e. - Stock and Chipped)
$149

yea thats $149 for the 2 programs and like $499 or so for the chip. cruise control stalk is just the way you access the programs. its like a set it and forget it. you cant change it while your driving. and it will stay on the program untill you change it to another program or get reflashed by the dealer or disconnect the battery.

Get it...

under the current sale, i believe its $599 for the chip (and the free second program) - then an additional $149 for the control stalk feature...

so, whilst on sale, the cost for 2 programs and the control stalk feature is about $750 (like charlieh stated)

UPDATE: I just verified with a dealer that the stalk feature is a free feature if you purchase multiple programs. I also verified that the sale lasts until May 9th (as stated above), and includes 2 programs. All for $599 (plus tax and labor = roughly an extra $100). Stalk feature included. I may jump on this soon.

It takes at most 15 seconds to change programs. Whats annoying about saving an ass load of time?

Why do you think using cruise control would cause a flashing CEL? I use mine regularly on highway drives and have had no problems.

It doesn't save time, its actually slower. It takes about 6 seconds to use my REVO SPS. And I don't have to play the "crap, did it just blink 3 times or 4 times" game? As I said, just my opinion but I find it annoying.

That sucks you have to pay for the labor. Where i am going to go its just they just charge for the reflash.

It started 4/14/08 you should go to where you got flashed and ask for money back.

Just got back from the APR dealer. I got 93oct and stock for the price of the basic program ($599). Big for APR. Such a huge difference over stock.
